Colleges supporting economic recovery report

Today, Collab Group is publishing "Colleges supporting economic recovery." The document has been produced in collaboration with Collab Group members and strategic partners.

The report examines three core areas where colleges can increase employment support and economic mobility. These areas are:

  1. The establishment of Skills and jobs hubs
  2. The delivery of an enhanced training and upskilling offer
  3. Job placement and employment-related support

This report argues that further education colleges will be critical to extending employment support to greater numbers of people across the UK. Already, colleges work across some of the most economically deprived communities. They are engines of social mobility and work in partnership with local and national stakeholders to support people of all ages to achieve their potential. This report highlights areas of best practice amongst further education colleges and makes recommendations for how the expertise, capacity and capabilities of FE colleges can be enhanced to create better outcomes for job seekers.
